When I flip a CD in the ol cup holder to burn some music, there are three programs fighting for control of it. WinXP, Real One Player, NTI-CD Maker. All three try to launch the CD and play it. How can I get only one to open a CD, or get them all to wait till I choose which one I want to use?
Tks.

I think each of the programs allows you to set preferences. I would look for the preference options and look for selections of default players and so forth.
Good luck,

Both Real One Player and NTI CD Maker do not have the ability to change start up under properties. Thanks for the input anyway.

Actually I was suggesting that you look for Preferences or Options or some type of heading like that. You would open the offending program and click on the toolbar to find the right place to change such settings. Usually the first option on the toolbar is Files, but it isn't in there. Generally it will be under Edit or Tools, but it can vary based on the program. I am not sure that Real One Player is the same as Real Player, but I have Real Player on my system and I just looked up the Preferences under View.
Good luck,

Are these programs opening when you insert a blank CD or does the CD autorun. If the latter, keep the shift key depressed while you insert the CD. Then open the CD burning software you wish to use. Hope I've understood you problem correctly.

Paul,
Yes, I believe you've got it. When I insert a blank CD to burn music to, all three applications try to open (run) it and they get in eachother's way, sometimes causing a screen freeze. I'll try the Shift Key as you suggested.
Thanks.
Budfred,
Real One Player and Real Player are not the same application even tho both are from the same company.
