Has anyone else had bad experiences with Norton Disk Doctor and Speed Disk? I've had disk problems (in Win 98) that Norton didn't fix, but Scandisk was able to repair them. Once after running Norton Speed Disk the system (Win 2K)crashed continually everytime I tried to get on line. I thought it was a coincidence until I read somewhere lately that Norton Disk Doctor corrupts more disks that it repairs. Is it better to use the utilities that come with Windows? Thank you!

Hi Murphie-
This subject has been brought up more than once. It is my opinion that you are better off with the built in utilities.....There are others that will disagree with me. (Which is ok too:))
So...Why don't you just check out THIS (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15591&highlight=Norton+system+works) thread.
Oh, what the heck- Why not check out this THREAD (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15941&highlight=Norton+system+works) too!
Good luck! :)
