Anyone got any ideas as to why DAP should suddenly stop functioning?
Screenshot appears below. System details in my profile but it's W98SE.
Have you tried clearing the history/cache in DAP?

Thanks mjc :)
Answer is "No", but I'll give it a go!
In the meantime I've actually uninstalled DAP in favour of Star Downloader, but things are no better
Maybe it's just some of the sites I've been trying, this one being totally resistant:
http://www.framework.nl/backwork/
Would you or someone else try it for me? Thanks! :)

Hi Mitch.
Your posted screenshot shows that DAP could not retrieve file info, but what happened if you click "download now"? I have had it come up like that, and the download worked OK.
I have just tried the backwork link you posted, and it works with DAP.
The "Download" link graphic doesn't work tho! you have to choos a site from the list on the left of the page- that works.
Sorry I can't be more helpfull.

Works in Opera too. But like David only from the the list on the left. And I had to "klik dan hier" to get it started - the site seems a little sluggish, but could be my dial-up.

Thanks for your input David and Paul.
I've got it now, but only after dumping DAP, in favor the Windows downloader.
I must have some kind of a real problem, because I'm in the process of downloading a number of programs which just vanished and then wouldn't reinstall from the DAP cache/
vCatch, which I use for Email anti-virus protection, simply refuses to initialize after installation, although DAP wouldn't d/l it at all!
Oh happy days - it's a good job the Premier League is back!!!:D

mitch, sometimes when we try to resume a broken download, it starts from the beginning or from some intermediate %, but not from where it stopped. You may use this trick if you ever come across such situation ...
In dap, right click the file and choose properties, then move to the connection page.
Click each one of the "Simultaneous connections" and write down all the connection's "Temp file" for this file.
Copy those .TMP files from their original location to a different directory (folder).
Then, re-download the file from the beginning (you will have to delete it from DAP
first) OR just continue with watever percentage it left with.
Just after it starts to download the file, stop the download, then right click on the file again and choose properties, move to the connectionpage, click each one of the "Simultaneous connections" and write down all the connection's "Temp file" for this file.
Now, rename the old .TMP files into the new ones that DAP has created and copy them back to their original location, (you will be asked whether you whish to overwrite the .TMP files that already exist in that location, please confirm.)
Now, resume the download again, this should create the file correctly.
If for some weird reason, you need to join the files manually, type this command:
copy ldnd0e5.tmp+ldnd0f5.tmp+ldnd110.tmp+ldnd122.tmp=fi le.dat
if the above doesnt work, try putting \b para.
copy \b ldnd0e5.tmp+ldnd0f5.tmp+ldnd110.tmp+ldnd122.tmp=fi le.dat
(make sure you write the filenames in the correct order, where order means filename of the first conn, second conn ....)

Good evening rahulkothari
Thanks for such a comprehensive reply, but it's easier to dump it - which is exactly what have done :D
My windows downloader works just fine and I think that I'll stick with it for now. I know it isn't, but just looks like it's lot slower than DAP!
Thank you again:) :)

well mitch, the "comprehensive" reply wasnt exactly from me. it was from dap support, coz i too faced similar probs. :)
