Help! I have just had to reload my W98 to find the disk has corrupted - due to a large scratch on the CD...
I have just upgraded to XP, and it has knocked out the USB and modem connections.
The original keyboard connector is a large 5 pin din connection attatched to the motherboard. Can this be over-ridden? I have a PS2 connection for the mouse.
The USB connections are two small rectangular square ones that connect to the motherboard (ie it is not an added USB board via the expansion slots)
What can I do to get the modem (which was working fine under 98) to A) reconnect and B) connect the rather rash purchase of a new USB keyboard and wireless mouse (which is at present connected through a variety of convertor cables)....
Thanks for you help in advance....

The original keyboard connector is a large 5 pin din connection attatched to the motherboard This suggest an AT mother board and The USB connections are two small rectangular square ones that connect to the motherboard also suggest older USB standard which most likely is not compatible with newer standards. Upgrading from win98 to winXP can be troublesome. Check your Device Manager, you will most likely need to update some of your drivers.
