Well, that was certainly interesting. I don't do much better on the computer than on the fake green.:p I scored a 58.

Just had a 37 after 17! Ended up with a 43...Still my best.
The last hole is a killer!
Budfred
09-07-2002, 01:09 AM
Not my first game, but my best. I just got 35 with 7 holes in one.
Now I need to stay away from that site, I got dumped off line because of inactivity. BAH.

Woa! Your the man to beat!
Only played a couple times before I posted it...Now the darn thing is getting addicting. And frustrating when you have a great game going and totaly mess up one hole
Budfred
09-07-2002, 01:20 AM
I messed up the last hole too, or it would have looked even better. Most of the holes in one were just luck, but I did get a little better as I played. I think I have played a total of 7 games so far, but I don't plan to return. Maybe I'll have to if someone beats my record, but I am not sure I am that competitive.;) :D :p

Well, I played again and I did a little better. I got a 51 this time. I would of done a bit better then that but I hung up on the 'fan' hole and the 18th I almost had it in 2 but....well....it went all the way back down! Grrr......
I will try it another day.
Budfred
09-08-2002, 05:38 PM
Well, I lied.:o :D I have returned and played several more times, but I can't seem to beat my previous best score.
I just finished a game at 35 with 4 holes in one and I had one a little while ago with 37 and 6 holes in one, but I can't seem to beat either my hole-in-one record or my best score. How are the rest of you doing? or have you all gotten sensible and stayed away?:D
For those that are still addicted, has anyone figured out how to get past that damned windmill?

HeHe- Hi Budfred
I've played a few more times but it started driving me nuts so I have to lay off for a while!
I still can't come close to your 35...My best so far is a 41.
 :D
(Edit)- I gave op on the windmill, I go to the side...Sometimes it bounces around and goes in.

Hey Budfred!
Just got a 37 with 7 hole in ones. Would have been great, but as usual, I screwed up a couple holes...But I'm catching up! :D
Got to hit the sack- Catch ya'll later ;)

09-09-2002, 01:25 AM
OOPS, sorry jabarnutcase, but I set a new bar. I just got a 33 with 6 holes in one. I still haven't been able to do more 7 holes in one, but I cracked that 35!:D I doubt I can do better, but I suspect I will end up trying again.:p

Pretty bad, I just get home and what's the first thing I do after checking new posts??? I have to stop this nonsense!
Haven't tried yours yet Buck...I will, but the first one is making me crazy enough! :D
Budfred
09-09-2002, 07:09 PM
Even Tiger Woods loses some sometimes.:D Oh well, I will just have to try again. That is going to be a really tough one to beat though. I haven't tried the other one yet either, but I will probably do so this evening.

ARRRGHHH!! I got a 33 again with 8 holes in one. I finally broke my hole-in-one record, but couldn't beat the main score. Jabarnutcase still holds the lead in the main score, but at least I have regained the lead on the holes in one.:D
Is this getting ridiculous or what??:p :p
I am really going to have to stop playing this game.;) So I will have to check out the other one.

Tried the other Mini-Golf, but the pictures are too small to be comfortable. It was challenging and I beat par, but I found myself squinting. I will stick with the previous bane of my existence and play the other one until I can break the addiction.:D

Okay, Jabarnutcase, how about a tie. I just got 31 with 7 holes in one.:) :p Now if I can just rest on my laurels for a while and leave the damn link alone, I can get some other things done. It is fun, but a real time eater.

Budfred
09-11-2002, 01:50 AM
I did it again, I went back just to play a "few games", but the temptation was too strong and I stayed for about an hour.
I did manage to set a new record in the process: 30 with 9 holes in one. :D
Addiction is a terrible thing...:p :p

You're right....Addiction is a terrible thing. :D

I refuse to play golf. We could go round and round about this, but the game really tees me off! You'd have to cart me off to the funny farm before I'd take out my frustrations on a helpless little dimpled orb.
People should be able to compete or iron out their differences without resorting to clubs and swinging. I mean, any way you slice it, it just doesn't seem fair! Ways to handle disagreements other than a closed stance and a right hook abound.
When you really line things up, there are worse hazards in life that would drive one to relax their grip on reality and at the same time literally bury their head in the sand! Sometimes this sort of attitude is just par for the course, and it can easily drive a wedge between people.
And, we call this a game?
Okay, I got a 47!
Budfred
09-11-2002, 10:13 PM
A painfully punny post!!:D Thanks Whyzman, but you are going to have to work on that score.
I don't know if the rest of you got this, but you can play this game offline by saving it at the Start page and opening it in your browser offline. I am not sure if this was a good thing for me to discover however. I have now broken my hole-in-one record with 10, but I only got a 29 for the score, so no new record there.;) :D

Uh oh....Watch out Budfred! Don't let the 47 fool you. This guy is an ace!
This is all very familiar to me...Could be a trap!
I'm telling you- Just when you think WHYZMN has quit golf, he's back..spinning his ball into the cup. Yep- When it comes to golf, ths guy is a diamond in the rough.
To be precise, his refusal to play golf may be nothing more than a bad lie!
Don't be silly enough to challenge him to a match..Play it safe. I gauran tee you he's just stroking us.
Believe me, I know this guy! And while he does have a sweet spot, challenging him could quite possibly mean sudden death.
My advice to you...Get legs and run!
No sir- WHYZMN is no hacker! (At least not in after hours) He may pretend to have a handicap, but he's just trying to hook you.
The irony of it all, is that he's really a pretty nice guy...But golf with him??? No way!
I hope I haven't gone out of bounds with my warning, but I felt it was the only fairway to warn you. He's frendly, but when it comes to golf he'll give you the shaft!
Oh, and WHYZMN..I hope you'll par don me, nothing personal you know! :D
In fact, when the chips are down, I'd play golf with you any day! ;)
(To be honest...I'm green with envy).
(Edit) By the way Budfred. I just got a 17 with 18 holes in one. On the 17th, it went in the cup, bounced out and landed in the 18th hole!!!....And WHYZMN is better!
Budfred
09-11-2002, 11:39 PM
Help, Help!! I'm drowning in puns!:D Fortuately, I don't actually play golf, so I am sure I didn't get all of the puns and that may have protected me from overload.;)
Quote: "By the way Budfred. I just got a 17 with 18 holes in one. On the 17th, it went in the cup, bounced out and landed in the 18th hole!!!"

Jabbar, you seriously need to get a grip!
I'm not one to keep a scorecard. I'm also not one to putts around. Of golf I've few things to say but there are a couple I would bring to the fore! This isn't just some sort of a lofty pitch, that pings like a coin in a cheap tin cup. I've choked before and wound up on the short end of the stick.
I told myself I would follow through with this thing, which is really a whole new approach for me. It was like a red flag went up and I knew I was going to have to address this, full disclosure, open faced. No more lagging back and pulling up short!
So, now that I've placed my marker and drawn the line in the sand for myself, (Jabbar, you can chip-in anytime now) I'm ready to let it fly! Sometimes I feel as though I'm playing to the gallery, but I'm going to take a stance here and now. For a starter, I'm no sandbagger! And, I'll not run up a list of imposing nonsense that might be misread.
So, here goes, " I don't like golf!" Please don't try and pin my dislike of golf onto my childhood or something else along that line. It's simply not true! Some folks have an absolute ball playing golf. In a round about way I suppose that's no lie. As for me, I'm still trying to decide what angle of approach to use.
Truth is, there are many master's of the game, I'm just not in their league. I doubt if they'd every ask me to be a part of their private club either. I'm not gonna pull any punches, now that's a gimme, neither will I take any of their lip!

As I was sitting in Greens local club after work today, a little birdie told me I should probably avoid this hole golf subject altogether.
I thought about the fact that this was a com-putter fore,um...I mean computer forum, and I should worry more about my computer and less about golf.
Anyway, this cute lady with dimples sits down beside me so I ask her opinion...I explained that I was a little hot around the collar about this golf issue- That the hole thing was getting out of hand.
She felt I was just being silly and suggested I go home, relax, and watch an old Bogey movie. What a great idea, I thought! I only had a couple drinks, and even though it was a fairly long drive, I was still well within driving range.
And why have a stroke over a stupid game???
So, (after another round), I paid Greens fee and off I went.
Made a quick stop at the gulf station fore gas...
Getting dark by now- Wasn't sure wedge way to turn.
But I made it home and pulled into the drive. What a relief! I'm soaring like an eagle.
I have decided once and fore all, that I will never mulligan over this hole golf issue!
"Here's lookin' at you kid"
Wow...I just realized something. I think my drink was spiked!

Definitely something in your cup, and a hole lot of it! I scratch my head at your musings and then realized you were at a watering hole, or as some might say, "Russian tee on the Nineteenth!" Did you leave seeing double, Bogey features that is? In, in two? In the bag? I'm sure that would be a lie, you'd leave being able to walk a straight line! :D
I'm getting in the groove now, ready to go full swing with my anti golf stance! I realize that I'd best keep my head down taking on such challenge. Or, forever I'll be carting my own words around like an albatross around my neck.
It might appear as though I'm stepping out of bounds by addressing the "sacred orb" with such disdain. Or, perhaps the preferred lie, to appease those who'd gather a round their "sphere of influence," would be cut my words short, and fore go the truth. One whiff of an open faced lie like that and I wouldn't be able to carry my self upright!
Any way you cut it, dimples or not, it's just a projectile capable of inflicting great pain. I've known "Golf Widows." I've seen husbands go carting off to "war." Forensics has shown many to have succumbed to the "game" of golf as a matter of course. Ballistics has shown many holes in their stories and more lies than one could begin to keep track of. The only fair way to assess this preoccupation would be call it what it really is, an "Orbsession!" Okay, with that I'll let it drop!

Isn't this like a game of HORSE...I think you need to prove that last score...For an old duffer like me...I'd sure like to see it proved! ;)
Also, now that I've classified "Orbsession" as an actual disease...I see an 18 step program in the future to deal with it. You know, helping folks to be able to step outside the box...so to speak? Any thoughts on that!?

Whyzman,
If you can tell me how to do it, I'd be happy to. I don't know that I can repeat that score, but I can probably come close. I am usually in the low 30s with about 7-9 holes in one.
