hi, is it possible to change the dial-up sound {hand-shake} of this lt modem or any modem for that matter? i was just curious or does each modem have its own type of sound during dial-up? if anyone has any info on this subject we would appreciate it. tommy

The handshake sound for each modem is slightly different. Part of that is what kind of modem it is connecting to and part is the speaker your modem uses to reproduce the sound. Also the different standards (.v90, .v92 etc use different sounds when establishing a connection).

No they aren't changeable (or at least easily so...probably would involve changing the speaker). About the only thing you can adjust is the volume.

Although, if your modem supports a v92 upgrade and you install it, the handshake sound should change somewhat if you are dialing into a v92 enabled ISP.
