I've done a few Windows XP Pro installs and many W2K Pro installs.I've always installed the Operating system first then various drivers so everything is set in the Device manager > then I install all my programs to make sure everything is working properly.I do this as Administrator. This is fine if I want to operate just as the Administrator.I know this is not recommended for using the net.
My question is what is the proper way to install so all programs and desktop settings that I have as Administrator are available as a user ?(Power User).I've tried after complete install > copying over the desktop folder from Administrator to the user account > there's always soimething missing > especially my ATI taskbar for my Radeon All In Wonder.
Should I set up the User account as soon as the Device Manager is cleared up? Can I then install all programs from the Power User account?
I want all my programs available to whatever user accounts I have set up? Any tips will be helpful!
Thank's.

The easiest way is to add the user to the power users group just for the "building" of the desktop enviroment, install your programs as this user, then remove the user from the group when done. (if security is a concern )

If more than one user uses the computer, you'll need to copy the default profile into the "all users" folder. Also check and see if your programs have an "all users" option during the install.

Good Luck :)
