Hi, a friend of mine is having some problem in connecting a win98 system in a Novell network. Sorry I don't know the version of the network. Actually the system was in the network previously, but he had reinstalled windows 98 after formatting the Hard Disk. Now he is unable to connect to the network server.

He told that the procedure for configuring is to run a batch file & set the path to some "XX" in the autoexec.bat file.

Sorry for not posting much details, but if you could guide me to configure to connect a win98 system in a Dos based Novell Netware (L.A.N )Network, it would be of use to me.:D

Advanced Thanks.

It's been a long time since I connected a Windows machine to a Novell network. If I recall correctly, there is a a 'Windows client' application which you run and configure on the Windows machine. It's available for download (for free) from Novell. You may want to search the Novell website and/or do some general web searches.

Under network properties, make sure the IPX protocol is loaded along with client for Novell Networks.

Make client for Novel Networks the primary network login
