In Internet Explorer, some pages load all of the images with no problem.
But others, consistently do not load the images. ALl I get is the boxes with the red x's. I've 'repaired' IE, and even done a reinstall, but to no avail!
Any suggestions?

Yes.
There's an M$ recommended procedure for dealing with this problem.
I'll find the relevant link and get back to you.
BTW, have you got "Show Pictures" checked, under "Multi Media" found via the Advanced tab in Internet Options?:) :)

Thanks for the response, I would love to have that link.
I do have Show Pictures checked, and images do load on most of the pages that I visit. 2 sites that images do not load on, are Ebay and the Onion. Go figure.

Okay, good news. I figured out the reason the images load on most but not all pages. For the pages that weren't loading images, I changed the encoding from W. European(ISO) to W. European(Windows) Just go to View->Encoding->Western European(Windows), and you got pics! Thanks for the link!

The red x picture bug was a fairly common one following an upgrade to IE6. Glad you got it fixed.

I realize that this is a very old post, but I want to say thank you to Wreckless for the solution, and thanks to the webmasters and the owners of this forum for keeping it going and archived.

Happens to me, and most people I know, in IE 6. Just Refresh and that generally fixes it.
Welcome to IE 6!!!
