I recently installed the latest verison of Zone Alaram only to find out that its not compatible with Windows Internet Connection Sharing. I have reverted back to the older version (2.6) and now all I get is outgoing warnings that my PC is trying to connect to Windows update. I am running win2k with sp3 but have disabled the autoupdate in services. Anyone any idea how to stop these constant alarms?
Update - 86 so far thats about 1 per minute.!!

I read in an earlier thread that once you install the latest version of ZoneAlarm, it doesn't go back easily to a previous version. You may have to use a clean uninstall program to get rid of it. Here is a list of such programs from PCWorld:

One question before you do that, do you tell ZA to remember the approval to connect. My copy doesn't ask me again when I let it remember. You may have to reinstall the new version to get full use of this feature. It may be a good idea to reinstall the new version even if you plan to delete it so that you can make sure you get rid of all of it.

Have you disabled ALL the auto updates?
Like the one in Windows Media Player?
Are you sure that it WU isn't in the "Scheduled Tasks"?
Are you running Office? any update features in it? are they turned off?
Basically you will need to check each and every MS product on your machine for an auto-update feature and shut it off.
