I need some cables for a new system, and I'm debating weather or not to get the round ones. After reading:

it seems that the ground wires in the 80 pin cables are there for spacial reasons; if you simply pile all the wires into a round bundle, some signal wires will be right next to each other, negating the benifit of the 40 ground wires (well, maybe not entirely). Right?
Or, is the benifit at the connections, and not important along the length of the cable?
