Hi everyone,

A neighbour wants me to resolve an email situation for him. He cannot receive email from any computer but his own. He has W98 and AOL Internet. He sends and receives email from his computer to his own email address and everything works Ok. He cannot however receive email from any other computer, although they receive emails from him Ok.

Can anyone throw any light on the problem please.

Thanks

Ray

I hope I've understood correct and that he is getting his mail from an account with AOL.

On another computer he will only be able to get his own AOL mail as a guest via AOL setup on that computer, where he can logon as usual. I think a whole lot of other stuff may also get downloaded and sit on that pc's HDD. The other way is to access it as WebMail via IE or another browser; just go to www.AOL.com and logon to AOL-Anywhere.

PS If he is away from home and wants to use AOL on a computer that is not connected (via AOL as the ISP) then there are special access numbers that can be dialled into. But beware, because these can be expensive toll calls.

Hi Ray,

If you haven't solved this yet, you might want to look under preferences, or my aol. AOL allows the user to block incoming e-mail, either from indiviuals or everyone. It sounds like he may have it set to block everyone.

Hope it helps...:)
