I just have to tell somebody about this tip.
I am building a fancy system for my wife, and am doing several case mods. As it has a side panel window, LED lit fans, & blue cathode light, I wanted to hide all possible wiring. I did this by utilizing the unused P4 connectors from the power supply. I pulled those wires through a newly bored 1" hole in the mobo mounting panel. I have the extra fans & lights wired up back there. So, I've got lots of wires to tidy up & no usable holes for cable ties.
A roll of 1.5" two-faced (carpet) tape is within arms reach, and an idea hits me that might work nicely in this unseen area. I apply 3/4" X 2" strips of two-faced to the steel panel, stuck the wires to it, and covered the wire & two-faced with electricians tape. I repeated this for each wire pair as required. Simplicity itself!
BTW, the wife, who hadn’t before cared much about the appearance of a PC is really liking it. I must go to www.howstuffworks.com and do a search on "women".
