I blew a processer cause Ididnt put a fan on it so in the process I blew the motherboard. So not knowing I blew the motherboard I put a different processer in it do you think I blew that processer too? So then I just receive a new motherboard and I put the processer in that I put in the blown motherboard so you think I blew that motherboard? this is really stupid!

Probably not, unless the first "cooked" CPU got so hot that it also damaged the CPU socket, which I have heard of. With the processor out of the socket, and a good bright flashlight, can you see any obvious damage, melting or anything? If there is, then yes, you may have very well have cooked CPU #2, especially if the insulation between socket pins is gone, or traces on the back side of the board got fused together from the heat. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif

My best guess is "Probably" -- Sorry. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif If the CPU is cooked, there is more than likely some internal damage, fusing things together that shouldn't be. Plugging it into a new mobo might let current flow to areas where it's not supposed to go. If it were mine, I wouldn't chance it, unless the mobo, RAM etc. was really a spare and I could afford to gamble. Could be an expensive test.

Diurnal,
I've been following both threads that were begun on this/your problem. I'm a neophyte so, no advice, just wanted you to know that I feel your pain.
Really, this is one of the sorriest scenarios I've ever seen or heard about. Dude, you ought to write a book on it when it's all said and done.
Please remember it's just money and time. School usually takes more of both, this is good learning. I've benefited by seeing your trial.
Peace,
and hang in there, the "real geeks" on this forum are the genuine article, they really know how and will help.
