I can't install anything

hi, my computer would not let me install anything using Installshield technology. Every time I tried, the computer just went frozen when the initial "please wait, processing..." appears. Besides this, everything is fine. I can uninstall things. Does anyone know how to solve the problem?

Thanks. By the way, last time when I tried to install CD-R driver. It did the same thing to me. I hit CTR+Alt+Del, and found "_ins4038(not responding)" in that box. Hope this would help.
