I am wondering if there are any companies out there offering the back case plate and mobo mount panels only. I want to modify some AT cases so that they will accept the new ATX format.
The cases I have available are well built and not much $ in them. If I can find a source to adapt, I would really have a custom made case!:p
Yeh, I know, too much time on my hands.
Anyway I think it would fun to convert some, instead of a dumpster fate.
Thanks for any info.

I am at home now and not in my shop. I do have a few suppliers that do. I do not know if they will sell to you. I will post back their names when I get back to the shop. Keep me posted on your procress, as I too have a bunch of cases.

If they need a tax ID # or EIN #, I have both.
What do they offer? I am sure sizes could be an issue too.
I haven't done any other searches for sources yet, but I'll keep in touch with this post.

No sources found yet. I went to a couple of modding forums and they were not too encouraging. They were concerned about depth of case compared to ATX, there is about a 1" difference between the two I have. But in the same breath, the AT case is about the same depth as the IBM mini I'm using which has the mini ATX form factor board.

Andys, did you have a chance to check anything out yet?

The measurement that counts in the distance from the Slot connector on the mother board to the card hold down screw plate.
AT and ATX are interchangeable
That is why you can use an OLD card from an AT in an ATX system.

What you may run into a problem with is the M/B mounting holes
If those match and you have the correct stand offs then you should be able to mount ATX M/B in AT case

Check your cases across the back.
Are the keyboard hole and other connectors in that area in an oblong shaped mount?
If not then you would have to cut the old area out and make a hole for the ATX adapter to mount.
These plates are included with many new M/B’s

Then it's just a matter of installing an ATX power supply
and power momentary switch
