dumb vid card question

the manual to my savage 2000 64 mb vid card says to set all 3 jumpers to "closed" for 4x agp... does closed mean take the 3 tiny things that slide down on the pins off? or does "closed" mean leave them on??

should i be able to tell a diffrence with the jumpers off and on? i took them off and played a few games then put them back on and played same games and couldnt tell a diffrence. i was hoping to make gta3 look better.i had a 16 mb ati rage 128 and grand theft auto 3 looked great but played very slow and choppy and when i installed this 64 mb savage 2000 the game plays MUCH smoother but actually looks worse. how can this be?

The defaults for one card may be different on the other
Check the detailed device settings in the video card Properties

You may find that some of the smoothing effects for the new card are turned off.
Sorry I can’t give you any specific settings to check
I don’t have a Savage card

Also, some cards have poorer quality graphics than others.
