I have an extra monitor and I'm looking for a place to store it in my house. Can I store it in the garage or will the cold hurt it?

Well, I suppose it depends on how cold your garage gets! Most monitors will tolerate cold for storage better than heat. Below about -10C you would have problems.

The major trouble is likely to be condensation. Wrap it two or three polythene bags one inside the other with some silica gel if you can find it.

When you want to use it again, let it warm to room temperature BEFORE opening the bags and it should be OK.

Thank you for the help! It sounds like something I can do.
