Oh man, please help

Hi, well I haven't been here in a while because everything has been running great on my system. That is, until today.
Problems started when I removed my sound card. I was having some problems with the device and decided to use the integrated sound until I could get a new sound card. After removing the card, the PC will not boot. All fans spin, lights come on... just won't do anything else. I had recently put new RAM in the system (about 2 weeks ago) so I removed this and tried different RAM. Same thing. Then I thought I would try without any RAM and the system beeps (3 long, because of the lack of RAM). Tried unplugging everything, tried different video card, still nothing.

My specs:
gigabyte GA-7VTXH+
AMD 1700
256 MB ddr
350 watt psu

I don't have a clue what has happened... If you have any ideas, please help.

You may have dislodged the harddrive data cable when removing the soundcard. Check that all cables are firmly seated.

I have done everything, including taking the mobo out and running it with just video, ram and kb. Still does the same thing. It just seems really weird that taking the RAM out causes the beep error code. I've tried everything that I can think of, and I'm suspecting that there isn't anything else that I can do. I pulled the cmos battery, even though this mobo has dual bios and if the main bios is damaged the backup should take over. Tried different vid card, just in case. Maybe I'm just looking for someone to confirm that it's a lost cause. Until then, I'll keep trying everything over and over and over and over.....

Did you make sure and turn off the main power or unplug the main power cable from the wall before removing the card? Some parts of the motherboard still have a small electrical charge running until the main power is turned off (by a switch on back of the power supply) or unplugged from the wall. So far I've fried 2 AGP video cards and possibly a SCSI card or scanner by forgetting to turn the main power off. Both AGP cards are hanging on te wall of the shop as a reminder...

If you forgot to shut the power down totally-or neglected it by accident, being unaware of it or in a hurry-chances are circuitry in the motherboard has been damaged and the motherboard is now a paperweight...

Do you have a different CPU to try? CPU is a long shot, they don't fail often, but a possibility.

Yeah, I had the psu switched off... don't know what happened. I got a new motherboard and everythign is working great. As a matter of fact, things are running better. Had a gigabyte and switched to MSI and the msi runs alot cooler that the gigabyte. like 10 degrees cooler. I have a problem with the onboard sound mic not working, but thats no biggy... Thanks for the help.
