See that the membership here is now 8760. What's so special about that you might ask. Well it's just a silly number I know - the same number as there are hours in a 365-day year! A few years ago, in the Coombe Hospital in Dublin, this was the number of births that they had in the hospital that year; they just popped out regularly at 12 minutes past the hour for twelve months - how's that for organisation!? :D
I just love useless bits of information like that. Anyway congrats to ixl on the continued growth of the forums.

Intrigued by "they just popped out regularly at 12 minutes past the hour for twelve months"...is that even possible? Or was there some "doctoring" of the times of birth going on..??:D
Yours is a good example of living in the quiet countryside, rather than the hustle and bustle of the city. We have time to think of such things, and more "peace" of mind..listening to the birds, cows, etc rather than the sounds of sirens, traffic, and just general noise. I myself am doing much better now that I have refrained from watching the national news every single night...lol!
Hi Paul,
You sure that figure is not how many pints of liffey water u've had since your 18th.
:D

Kay LOL :D I was J/K; trying to be ironic - if that's the right word. Babies come on time; you must be kiddig; nearly always in the early hours if left to their own devices. Though maybe the maternity units could learn something from farmers. When pregant cows are housed (and cannot feed ad lib) the trick for being able to get a good night's sleep oneself is to only feed them at night and remove access to hay etc during the daytime. 90+% of them then calve in the daytime - instead of vice versa! So maybe those moms-to-be should only be fed at night tooooo. ;)
kfh If you think 18 was the kick-off time - you're mistaken. :D Though my first experience was thinking it was quite disgusting stuff. Talk about acquired tastes! ;)

Hhmmmmm...my sister-in-law is doing her best to get pregnant..will pass along your theory! She was up all night..and her doctor too..the last one. Now, if you have any theories on how to "not" get sick on weekends, we'd love to hear them! At our house, none of us (including the cat) ever get sick during a doctor's work week..only on Friday nights, Saturdays, or Sundays. My husband has a weird eye swelling/redness thing that happens in one eye..but only on weekends and has cleared up by Monday..so we're still clueless. We don't have any emergency clinic in our dinky town, and guess it saves us on doctor's bills, because we (including the cat again) always feel better by Monday.:)

Your husband's eye problem may be an allergy to the cat (or something else in the house), more exposure over the weekend.

LOL - when I saw the word sickness Kay, I was sure it was gonna be about morning sickness. Well nature's anti-emetic is a teaspoon of ground ginger taken in milk and sweetened to taste!
There are lots of theories on weekend sickness, notably migraine, like you describe. IMVHO these may be precipitated by bio-rhythm changes (like a mini jet-lag if you like), notably if the sleep pattern is changed at the weekend (eg lying-in in the mornings). So you could try setting the alarm to wake you at the normal time! :D ;)

Nah..poor husband spends more time outside than inside on any given day, including his only full day off which is today. He's heading off now to our pioneer friend's house to get stuff covered and insulated against wintertime. Could be "allergy" to weekend, though..poor guy.
And no..we suspect "aging" and years of habit are the causes for an inability to stay up "late"...lol..both of us tend to fall asleep watching a late night movie and both of us are up at regular time regardless of whether we've managed to stay awake through "most" of the movie or not.:) Come to think about that though..maybe that proves your theory because we don't even try to watch late night stuff except on weekends so would be change in sleeping pattern.
