I just got a new video card (GeForce3 Ti500) with TV out and I'm planning on buying a new TV (36-42") is it possible to use my new TV as a monitor and if so y wouldn't I?
Thanks for any advice in advance,
Hailstorm
Yes, it can be done. But the resolution may be less than desireable.

I've a JVC 36" that we use for our home theater. My ATI All in Wonder Pro puts me in touch with it and the DVD player with Soundblaster 5.1 Platinum works quite well.
At 800X600 the desktop looks pretty fuzzy, but the DVD looks awesome! :)

I have tried it also, and sometime it works well and sometimes not. You have a better card tha I do so it might be better. Works better with graphics than print.

Ditto to all that's been said. I'd make sure that you're not planning on making the TV your sole view of the desktop. It'll be very hard to read text, etc. If you're using it for home theater, cool. If as a primary display device, I'd avoid doing that...
