Hello. I just finished putting together an Athlon 2000 with a KT333 mobo. Installed pc alert that MSI gave me. Now, I'm wondering how hot this thing is supposed to run. The cpu is usually around 45-50C under a full load, the chassis is around 40C, the cpu fan spins at around 4700rpm, and my case fan around 2600rpm. I've got one fan blowing out near the cpu, but have no fan blowing in. Also, my PS is above the cpu heatsink, but only sucks in air from the front of the PS, not from the bottom. Do these numbers sound right?

edit: I bought the mobo (MSI KT3 ultra2) and it came with the box, drivers, a dvd player, and even a cute little punch out calendar. But not included was the north bridge active cooling fan. I went to MSI's site and it says the fan is optional. It does however, include a heatsink on the north bridge. Do I need to go get myself an active cooling solution on my north bridge or can I just use the heat sink? I do not plan on overclocking anything.

Thanks.

I just looked at a few photo’s of that Board
With the Cpu H/S in place the air flow off it would not cross the H/S on the north bridge

I’d invest in a chipset H/S and fan
That board will allow you use just about any of the after market units

Your Under Full loads temps (45-50C ) are about normal for an AMD with good cooling
But it won't hurt anything to cool the chipset
