MS Flight Sim shuts computer down??

I just purchased MS Flight Sim 2002 Pro version today, and it runs and looks great. However, when I am taking a student lesson, it plays for a bit and then immediately shuts my whole system down.

This doesn't happen with any other program othen than this one.
I purchased the software new from a trusted and well respected retail outlet and I believe that this is a genuine product.

I am running Win2K and have 256 DDR-RAM. I have done a memory test of my RAM and all tests passed.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why it may be doing this??

Does it take you back to Windows? Or completely shut you down? While playing FS 2002, the plain version, no pun intended (such a beautiful sim) using winXP, it would suddenly just shut down and take me back to windows. I did a brief search and found out that there was some bug with xp with specific games, including fs 2002, motocross madness 2, and maybe some others. I'm trying to remember, I used to get a specific message, a particular type of error. Anyway, the xp service pack 1 was supposed to resolve this. Now, maybe this applies to win2000, as they are similar. For what it's worth.
