How about an "official" Seti@home PC Guide Team? Maybe IXL, mjc or Paleo-Pete would like to create it and be the team leader?

http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ if you have no idea what I'm talking about.

I would be interested in this sort of thing. But I have to say that I ran this prog a few years ago (I'm sure it's the same) that I D/L from the seti site and not much happens. It's pretty dry stuff to sit there and watch it...waiting...and waiting...waiting...for something/anything to happen. Perhaps the prog has changed and is better and less demanding on the PC. With all that said I would still be interested because weird things are afoot overhead these daze, like what's being talked about over here (http://www.enterprisemission.com/)

beam me up mr scott

I think it's a great idea, count me in and tell me and whoever else what to do and how to do it. Even if nothing happens forever, you just never know. My son does this up north and even though nothing ever happens just the chance makes it very cool

I'm in too...of course when the wife finds out how much the electric bill is from running 6 systems full time to look for E.T. I may be in trouble :D

I think you should run the CANCER RESEARCH program (for distributed computing) instead of SETI, I mean there is more of a chance of finding a cure and its a tad more important! http://members.ud.com/projects/cancer/ as everyone knows that millions a year die from it, and basically you can win prizes, cash, and other stuff with United Devices. I also think that we should have a team and one of the moderators should be the team leader.
Think, we are actually helping find a cure, rather than Aliens :p
HELP FIND A CURE!!! Think of all the good we could do and we would beat other groups as we have loads of people on the site a week.

Please Consider it, Im sure you know of someone thats died of cancer,

Olie

I agree with aussieolie2; SETI is too improbable for me to bother with.

I'm a melanoma survivor, so I do have interest in the United Devices project. "United Devices is still working in partnership with the National Foundation for Cancer Research, Oxford University and Dr. Graham Richards. His team will continue to receive the results and work diligently to advance cancer research."

My niece (http://toritimes.homestead.com/troopers.html) suffers from cystic fibrosis (http://www.cff.org/about_cf/what_is_cf.cfm?CFID=343710&CFTOKEN=57502298), so I've decided to join folding@home (http://folding.stanford.edu/) , because I believe it has more general applications.

Don't let your spare CPU cycles go to waste!:)
