Okay, First I'll make it clear I'm a bit of a gamer... right that's out of the way. The problem seems to be strnage slowdown on some games.
Specs.
AMD K62-3D 500
128 mb ram
removable 10 Gb HDD
Voodoo3 PCI (Previously SiS 330 <---- Pile of poo)
internal SoundMAX soundcard/adapter
52x CD-Rom

Now my machine should run fine but no... The 3d card transfer rate is 25mb and has updated drivers and the Ram fluctuates from 415 to 150 mb per sec.
And some games slow down some don't. It's absolutely stupid and is driving me insane. i'm playing this game right now which has a recommended spec of p233 and 64mb ram and voodoo 2 and the frame rate can down to about 1 per 15 seconds... i'm also being literal here. Very frustrating. I also have problems with booting up and other speed issues... I think my PC, which is only 6 months old by the way has some serious problems

The main thing I see here is the statement that it's 6 months old. It should be under warranty, so my first and main suggestion would be take it back to the vendor or call tech support. Make them get it right. Don't void your warranty.

Ermm... well... heh heh... There is no warranty...
Well, what do you expect from an internet company (reputable by the way, not illegal) which sold the PC for less than £400 including VAT plus delivery. The boot-up problems and stuff are seperate things, it was fine to start with so I think it could have been the power cuts that kept happening http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif Of course the speed issue has always been there, any help?

The AMD K6-2 500 is an OK cpu; however, it is not blazing fast on games....never has been. With that said, there are some things you can do to optimize the performance of it:
1. When gaming, be sure all "resident" programs are OFF...if you have a ton of programs that start when the computer starts - they will SLOW everything down.
2. Add 64 mb of Ram to your system....it will help the K6 2 cpu a lot.
3. Run Scandisk at least twice a week and Defrag the hard drive every 14 days or so.
There might be some other things the other folks will add to this...but this will get you started toward getting the most out of that chip.
