I screwed up! I have windows 98SE on the first partition (C)and Windows 2000 Professional on the 2nd partition(D).Well earlier today I was formatting a bunch of floppies and like a friggin idiot I must have right clicked on (C)instead of (A)and formatted over my Windows 98 Installation. So I reinstalled 98SE again.
I ran into problems when trying to get the dual boot setup with W2K again.I've tried booting to the Recovery console and using fdisk /mbr & fixboot C: commands. I can boot to W2K then but not to 98SE. I did copy over the boot.ini file and edited it along with ntldr,arcldr,arcsetup,ntdetect.com to the 98 partition.I get a disk error message when trying to boot to 98.
So I booted to a startup floppy and typed sys c: > was then able to boot to 98.Of course the W2K info is now gone.I tried the RC again > same problem > can boot to W2K but not 98SE.
What am I missing here? Am I doing something out of order?

Help!!

I may be wrong, but I believe that Win 98 has to be installed before Win 2000.
If so, then you may be facing a format and reinstallation of both O/S's.

Problem solved.Used a 98 startup floppy > "SYS C:" then booted to the W2K Pro CD >selected repair >(not Recovery Console) > tried manual repair for boot sector > didn't work > booted via cd again > selected > repair > "Fast Repair" > inserted Emergency Repair disk > files were repaired > bootsect.dos was back where it belonged.Problem solved.
