I have a 1996 Advanced Logic Research computer, with no documentation. It won't go through the bootup sequence, I don't know the bios settings. Do I have a dead motherboard? If it is, the only info I have is on a label stuck to the board. Triton Classic 100MHZ 12209670-10 serial# 0749124. How do i find the manufacturer, and is it a Baby AT or AT or ATX board? Also, it has a Intel Pentium processor.

I hear the hard drive working and the fans run. It has a video card, when I plug in the monitor it doesn't light up, so I changed the card with a known working card and the same happens.

I know that you have an older board, probably an Intel 430 (some revision) chipset, other than that I can't find much else out about the board, need a BIOS id string for that, and you need video for the id string...

If you have any other info on it that would help, you could try removing the battery (on most boards it is about the size of a quarter) that will reset the CMOs and when th battery is replaced should laod the default BIOS settings, that may help get video, or to post...you can try reseating everything an it, memory, video card etc, just follow some saftey procedures ( should be outlined in the link in my first reply)

It sounds possibly like a memory problem? Did you change or add memory via a SIMM lately? Or does it have a fixed amount, 8 meg is normal for a system this old, in the board? Did you by chance have a system shock of any type? Lightning, phone lines, static? This sounds bad.

The battery is intergrated in board, I'm not good with soldering.

I added memory and it didn't change anything, yes, it has 8MB of on board memory. I wear a wrist strap.
