Our local Radio Station displays the traffic situation using web cams.
When I try to view them all I get is the associated text and a small red X in the corner.
Do I need some configuration changes or additional hardware / software.
At present I use Windows98, 132MBRAM, I am not sure what video card I have.
Perhaps someone could set me on the right track to view the images.
Thanks

Ray,
They are being displayed (video) on your radio (audio)....did I miss something?
Are you aware of anyone who is processing the signal? Was wondering if it is a scrambled signal...for their eyes only?

Please let me explain.
BBC Radio Bristol have their own website where they supply CCTV images of the traffic situation around the area, so that potential commuters can see where traffic jams are. The sytem is known as jamcams, which I am able to access OK.
But the images do not display. I just get a screen from which I can select a specific Camera output, but there are only text messages and a rectangle with a redX in the topleft hand corner. It says click here to
choose display. but I get no display.
I suspect that my setup is not capable of displaying whatever format is being used, but I don't know where to look, or what to check.
I would be grateful if you can help please
Ray

Do you display other pictures while browsing...you don't have your browser set to "text only" do you?
Ray,
If you can see other pictures on websites then it is possible that you don't have a viewer for their particular format. Right click on the red X and select properties.....this will tell you what picture or video format they are.
Also are these static pis or video clips, streaming files, etc?

Ray, You are doing better than me! I can't even get the box with a red cross to display. Just a blank window. Thought it was only me, and I wassn't interested enough to look further. I tend to avoid motorways round Bristol if at all possible.

COOL!
I've always wanted to see Britain :p but kinda hoped it would be in person :(
It works for me but intermittently there's a red X while it loads or that particular web-cam is unavailable. Otherwise it works great! Rainin' again huh? No worries, it is here too...
Word of warning: Be careful! All those cars are going the wrong WAY!!!

Do you mean that, at http://www.bbc.co.uk/bristol/content/jamcams/ you do not see a map with clickable icons for the various camera location?
If that is the case then your browser must have a problem displaying GIF images (this sometimes happens with Internet Explorer and can be fixed). As a test, try accessing the map image directly:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/bristol/content/jamcams/mainmap_650.gif
Note that the icons will NOT be clickable when you access the map directly like this. This is only a test to see if the map displays correctly for you.

FTT, it looks like the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car too...must be something with mirrors. I noticed the other day that I could read ecnalubmA correctly in my rear view mirror!
I used to point at those vehicles and laugh thinking someone couldn't spell.....
***Please note - this service may be unavailable on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October due to site maintenance***
Found that trolling through the site.....also they disply fine in Opera, if I allow pop-ups...
I am getting them fine in IE...you may need to check or reset you image permissions in IE. Also, scripting and activeX...settings, you may want to try putting this site in your trusted zone....
