Need help: I run the disk check yesterday, unfortunately it completed only 99% and left the pc hanging ( and the process took more than 3 hrs!)
Pls advice me. TQ

Welcome to PCGuide!!

The easiest way to deal with a problem running Scandisk is usually to run it in SafeMode. This will prevent loading of background programs and will allow you to complete faster and without problems usually. If this doesn't work, post back with more info about your system and particularly what Windows version you are using.

What version of Windows are you running?

If running an 9x version, yes, try it in Safe Mode....

But, hanging when mostly completed it could very well be hitting a damaged area of the disk. For a second opinion download the drive manufacturer's diagnostics and give them a run.
