Hey Guys (and girls)...When I b00t my win 98 computer the following error comes up:"C:\WINDOWS\system\vmm32.vxd:missing/unable to load". vmm32.vxd is a driver device. I think it has something to do with loading VistaScan and Presto PageManager (along with an older verson of Acrobat Reader (2.1). Advice has been given to me to uninstall these drivers and then reinstall them in the hopes that the values for this driver will be corrected. However, I can't find any way of uninstalling the scanner software or the 2.1 acrobat reader software. (I have since installed Acrobat REader 5.0 and any pdf files are linked to use this newer version).
If I boot 2,3 or 4 times the computer will load and operate normally. Also, after booting in safe mode, the error does not come up.
any suggestions? thanks for your help....
