can anyone post a list of commands and steps in order for me to trouble shoot tcp/ip problems.

im in college (part time) and my instructor sometimes has me go to different parts of the college and fix complaints from people who can't get onto our network. so if anyone has a list of steps to follow and dos commands i'd appreciate it!

Interesting that your instrutor doesn't provide this information for you. Anyway, here are some basic windows tcp/ip troubleshooting "tools".
A goolge search will tell you how to use each one and what information they provide.

Ping
Netstat
Nbtstat
Tracert
Winipcfg
IPconfig

Background knowledge of your network and operating systems will also be needed in order to troubleshoot connection problems.

Good Luck :)

Sounds like you may already have it under

control as "your instructor is sending you

to different parts of the college to fix

complaints." ;)
