System specs are shown below. I have a strange video related problem.
When booting (award Bios) the system beeps 4 times. About a minute later a single beep. The monitor remains inactive until you think it is going to timeout. Then half of the screen turns blue and this is replaced with the windows log on screen (win2k Pro). No bios settings are shown and no system checks.

I put an old PCI video card in the system and everything worked fine.
I received a replacement for the original AGP video card and had exactly the same problem. So, it is not the card. Can anyone help?

Is there a jumper to reset the BIOS/CMOS? Try doing that with the AGP card, see if it defaults to AGP for video again. Might also be a problem with the AGP slot.

Problem solved. It was a %%$$# BIOS setting that was set to PCI. I believe it was called DISP INIT FIRST. Once I set it to AGP, all was right in the PC world. Lessons earned building the box. 1) Make damn sure the cards are inserted properly. Do several hail mary's before tackling the almightly BIOS.
