I noticed there is a great deal of useful information in the same article....

I especially like the section on "mouse balls" (http://www.ascensionlabs.com/humor_MouseBalls.htm) sent out to IBM field Engineers!
It is recommended that each replacer have a pair of spare balls for maintaining optimum customer satisfaction, and that any customer missing his balls should suspect local personnel of removing these necessary items. :p
