Actual Alert Message from Zone Alarm
process 928 could not accept a(n) UDP Port 1183 connection from xxx.xxx.xxx.9 because Internet servers are blocked.

Seems a few others are puzzled too ;)

Basically if ZA can't figure out exactly the name of the program, it often comes up with these screwball names.....as long as you deny it access then you are ok.
And, yes it would be nice to figure out what it really is.....but I know of no easy way to do that.....

I have a process 928, a process 944, and a Generic Host Process for Win32 Services running that I'm not 100% sure about but if I don't let them run I can't connect to the Internet.
Whatever they are they seem to be necessary.
Right, but the could also be not vital...it depends on the system. Za tends to assign some names like that when it can't clearly ID what it is that is trying to connect. One fix I have heard of is to remove all the programs from ZA and then sart each one you normally use that needs persmission and try to narrow it down by trial and error.

Thanks guys for the replies.
Prior to the original (1yr old) HDD going on the blink and having to re-install XP onto new HDD Generic Host Processor Was disallowed in ZA, I also had services down to 8 running and never recieved anything like this then.
At present there are 16 processes running. Will cut them down one at a time and let you know in a couple of weeks what happens
