Well first off I think this game is cool. I especially like the Multiplayer mode... however I was wondering if someone could help me out with a technical question with this game or show me to a site that could address it becuase I can't find one if it meant the world would end!!!! ***not sure if this I should post it here but my gut instinct tells me it should be allright***

The game works perfectly in the normal mode (Single player) however on multiplayer its cracked out!! I have a CDS client for it and whenever I try to join a server it will not load... If it requires I download a file from the server it will take at least 10 seconds for 1KB!!!!! and another for 2KB... It would be important to note that I have a LAN connection with very good download speeds.... much much more capable of the 1KB/10 seconds....
Thanks a lot ***sorry if wrong area to post this, if even there is one(which isn't very obvious to me if there is)***

*** my system meets the program requirements for the game as well ***

Sounds like it may be some form of "crack protection"...something on the server is looking fro some file or checksum and not finding it in the cracked version (my guess would be a hash or checksum) and is restricting your speed so that it would be nearly impossible if not outright impossible to play.

I'm not exactly sure what systems exist to check and restrict "cracked" versions but I do know they do exist and are used. There are also ways of checking for certain cheats and restricting of banning those too.....

Any patches of the game? Any info on the main site? There may be news about "known issues" on the developer's/publisher's website about your problem.

Does your LAN connection have problems with other multiplayer games or is the first one you've tried? Could be that your LAN connection uses protocols that aren't supported by the Kingpin servers. Could be anything from a dynamic IP to a certain DNS entry to a firewall problem. Maybe even hub/switch/router problem (something not set right).

thanks for the reply saphalline
I'll make sure to check into "known issues"

I haven't tried a multiplayer game before over my LAN connection before... I know that every time that my computer starts up it pops up with a screen that says Enter your network password for Microsoft Networking However I have no password so I always hit cancel

Do you think that could have any possible effect on the multiplayer mode??? If so how would I go about removing it as I've been unable to figure it out as of yet...?
