When i boot up windows a message comes up on the screen which says " C:\windows\system\esserver.exe "
Can anyone out there tell me what this means and how to get rid of it coming up when i boot up.

That file is used in the Internet Explorer repair process, and may have become corrupted.

Click Start, click Run, type sfc in the 'Open' box, then click OK.

This will run System File Checker. If a bad file is found, it will be replaced with a good one.

It may ask you to insert your Windows CD.
