Hi all,
I have a problem during POST, the above message appears after trying to detect my installed drives.

It fails to detect any CD-ROMS connected yet I have 2.

I currently have the hard drive on Primary Master, a DVD-ROM on Sec Master and CD-Writer on Sec Slave.

If I disconnect the CD-Writer, it detects the DVD-ROM yet when I plug it in it again does not detect any.

I replaced the 40pin/80 conductor cable from the Sec IDE port to CD-ROMS, reformatted PC and reinstalled windows.

However the problem still persists, can anyone help me.

That message usually happens when you're only using the old standard 40-pin IDE cable (non-80 conductor) on the harddrive. If you're using the correct cable though, try a different one.

As for the ROM units, make sure they are jumpered accordingly. If you have them set to Cable Select (CS), try jumpering them as Master and Slave, with the Master ROM unit connected to the connector at the end of the IDE cable and the Slave ROM unit connected to the middle connector of the IDE cable.
