what would the bus speed be of that processor?

According to my research, AMD-K6 was released with a bus speed of 66MHz.

Yep, AMD K6 300 should be a 66MHz bus. The K6's were all 66MHz.
The K6-2's, on the other hand, had the strangest bus speeds I've ever seen. Let's see, they were: 66MHz, 95MHz, 97MHz, and 100MHz. The K6-2 380 & 475 had the 95MHz bus speed. The 533 had the 97MHz. The 350, 400, 450, 500, 550 all had 100MHz bus speed. The rest, 233 or so thru 366, had the 66MHz bus speed.
Don't quote me on all this, it's just off the top of my head! :D

well poop on acer. my computer tutorial said that the RAM was pc100 that was bull! so i bought pc100 and got the bsod which eventually led to my fried motherboard. dangit! i'm staying away from acer from now on!

RAM is generally downward compatible, so that shouldn't have been the cause of your mobo failure. If it is, that is some strange RAM.

The RAM does not run at the speed specified by the PCxxx rating unless the bus speed is that. The PCxxx rating is the maximum speed that the RAM is rated to run at.......that means RAM rated at PC133 is capable of working properly at an FSB of 133MHz. RAM always "runs" at the the bus speed (or if you have the option of adding to the FSB for the memory bus, then it can run higher....on my board I have the option of running my RAM at FSB + 33MHz)

Are you SURE it's a K6 300 and not a K6-2 300? I have a K6-2 350 that runs on a 100 mhz bus...

Yeah, I checked, the K6 only went to 266MHz, so you definitely have a K6-2 300. Still only a 66MHz bus, tho...

You might want to check jumpers, though. My Epox board has an independent 66/100 mhz jumper for the RAM clock speed! (so that you could run a 66 mhz processor but still run the RAM at 100).
