I have just received the following from my hosting company. Can anyone tell me how I can find out more about a "ROUTER down somewhere in the AT&T network"

Thanks,

Our network is 100% up and running without any problems...

BUT, there appears to be a ROUTER down somewhere in the AT&T network.

If your ISP uses that route to connect to our servers, then you may not be able to access your site.

BE ADVISED, all sites are up and running 100% without any problems...

This problem is OUTSIDE of our network and there is NOTHING that we can do in this situation.

All anyone can do is wait for AT&T to fix their ROUTER.

DO NOT CONTACT SUPPORT if you are having problems connecting to your site right now... as EVERYTHING here is up and running.

There isn't anything you can do really. Your ISP might be a 3rd or 2nd tier ISP and may connect to the ATT backbone to access the rest of the internet.

ATT will not answer the questions of a customer of one of those lower tier ISP. (you can try but don't expect a warm welcome.) But your ISP can tell you if they use ATT's backbone.

Sometimes a search of the "computer" news web sites can also give you some info if the outage is big enough.

Thanks, G_H. It's back up now so no worries, but I just like to know what's going on ;)
