Hi,
I have installed Redhat 8.0(GRUB is the boot loader) on my PC to have it dual boot with WinXP but after grub's boot up, my USB keyboard is not functioning and therefore can't choose WinXP anymore. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Probably because the linux USB support is not loaded yet........does your BIOS have an option to enable USB keyboard support?
If not, then you may need to go to a PS/2 keyboard.......

Thanks for response.
I actually used the same usb keyboard with my previous set up( Dual- boot WinXP and WinME) but I don’t have any problem in OS selection during boot up and I’m thinking that my BIOS setup is already for USB keyboard. I was thinking that it might be the configuration of GRUB for usb support but I don’t how to configure it. Or is not supported GRUB, I don’t know.
Ok, if you weren't having problems with other OS then it would seem that you are right about USB keyboard support being enabled.
It could be that GRUB isn't configured for it, but since I use LILO and a ps/2 keyboard I am like you and don't know where to check.....not sure who uses GRUB, so you might have to wait around a little on that.
This (http://tinyurl.com/2p6l) google search has a lot of the similar problem, but unfortunately I couldn't find any hard fast answers on my quick look through..........
for a patch look at this one

Here is a post with the above and another patch they claim fixes it

Thanks for all the reply.
I think it's quite difficult for me to follow the patching at this time because i'm really a linux beginner. I'd better to use PS2 keyboard until there everything is in place. Thanks.
