I decided to see what Nescape 6 was like. After downloading and
checking it out I decided to stick with IE6 and Uninstalled it
using the uninstall wizard, plus the help of a the program 'Registry
Detective' to remove as many references to it as possible.
Apparently Nescape 6 comes 'bundled' Winamp 3. I don't care for the
latest Winamp interface, as I had previously installed it and went back to the previous version. So Winamp 3 had to be uninstalled again.
While looking in my Temporary Internet Files, some Winamp icons were
listed. They wouldn't play in Winamp, nor did they possess a known file extension. These same icons were also present in the Mozilla
folder (I had missed deleting that one!), representing all the websites
I had visited in INTERNET EXPLORER!
Other Winamp icons were listed in C:\WINDOWS. Not only that but when
I sometimes Save a Corel WordPerfect document, (or even Notepad), it occasionally saves it as a Winamp icon.
I'm using Windows 98SE.
