Mandrake 9 after install questions.

im going to put Mandrake 9 on the main puter(WinXP/NTFS)on extended 5G partition, my questions are..

1. how do i go about checking that my graphics card(GF3 TI500)has or hasn`t got drivers installed?

2. im on a cable modem connection to NIC, so when linuxs runs its internet setup how do i tell it to use the NIC?

Easy once you have got the partition setup and the OS installed go to http://www.nvidia.com and get the latest Deternator drivers for the correct OS and it will work regardless if the drivers are already there you will update them to the latest ones.

You'll have to run the install package for this I think not entirly sure though, but I wouldnt bother with any wizards they are always far too jargon orientated for me, opt for the good old manual settings!

During the install
9.0 will find and list the video card/chipset and set the res. To the default .
Then display a test screen for you to view and accept

If you want immediate internet access
During install when Mandrake fines and ask.
How you connect select the LAN option
Tell it to use auto DHCP
it will do this after it finds the eth0 (Nic)

You can later go into network setup and make all the changes you like
