View Full Version : how to installing hd in toshiba sat pro 440

my toshiba has no floppy drive. so how would i go about installing a new hdd? it does have a floppy and i also have a usb zip drive external.
1. how would i boot to hdd to format?
also what type of cpu does this laptop have can i upgrade it. to a faster one?

You can buy a small adapter that can convert a laptop hard drive so that it can plug into a regular PC. (Power and Cable) It's pretty cheap, under $10 bucks. From there you should make the hard drive bootable and maybe put the OS Setup files on there. I usually copy the CABS to c:\windows\options\cabs and then install Windows from there.

If your 440 has a CD Rom which I believe it does. See if you can boot from the CD.

This one is a couple of weeks old.....most likely the poster has moved on to other things.......and it has a related thread which got the answers.

so this one is going to be closed and sink into oblivion....
