What is the best protocol for transfering files over the net.
FTP or HTTP??

I heard that FTP is better but doesn't FTP only take so many connections and then once it reaches that limit (say 15) it will take no more, so you could therefore say its very restrictive to how many clients it can serve at any one time.

HTTP would be more suitable for a larger environment would it not.

If I did post sound clips or movies on my website for people to download then how would I distinguish between whether they are downloaded using FTP or HTTP??

Any comments would be much appreciated :-)

Kind Regards

Beno

Beno,

This appears to be some excellent reading (http://www.htmlcompendium.org/detail-notes/6down.htm) on the subject.
