Hi;
Trying to install a cable modem to my pc .
When win-me detects the hardware & asks for the cd for the drivers it's given to the cd-rom drive.
After finding the drivers when I hit the next button to complete the install the pc freezes.
Ctrl;Alt ;Del shows me that the Add new hardware wizard is not RESPONDING.
So I went back to my previous 56 k modem to reinstall it.The hardware wizard does not install that one also.The older modem was working fine before it was removed to make room for the Cable modem.
PC---amd athlon 950 mhz ; Siemens 256 mb @ 133 mem one stick at slot 1.
Maxtor 40 gig HD with promise ATA 100 controller.
Tekram TRM K7XA (1.02) MB. Power supply :Antec @ 400 watts. VGA--Matrox DH @ 16MB.
The cable modem to be installed is 3COM model # 3cr29223.(Broadband)
