Im building a budget PC using a 1.7 Celeron and Gigabyte 8SR533 motherboard on a socket 478. However the CPU heatsink below the fan doesnt contact the CPU, theres a 3-4mm gap. This could cause overheating problems so has anyone got any ideas what I could put in between the CPU & the heatsink so they contuct the heat?
If there is a gap .
You have it mounted wrong . Or it's the wrong heatsink
Also note that the H/S has to sit on the chips raised section
Not on the PCB
