I'd appreciate any advice regarding the following:

My PC is a Celeron/466/256MB memory/Cirrus Logic Video Card 4MB.

I just installed a Samsung 955df 19 inch monitor and system boots into Windows 98. However, when I attempt to run certain programs I freeze up.
When I open My Computer I do not see the drives. I have a Plextor SCSI CD rom which also freezes and have difficulty accessing, I also have a Yamaha SCSI CD burner which also freezes.

Last week before adding the monitor I installed a MS Wireless Optical Mouse Blue which worked fine.

There are no problems devices listed in Device Manager.

Updated Anti Virus scan is negative.

I have downloaded and installed the most recent drivers for the new monitor and the optical mouse.

Suggestions? Thanks.

When you installed the new monitor did you change the resolution on your video card through Display Properties?

If so, it may be your video card that's causing the freeze. You could try the old resolution (pre-19 inch monitor) and see if that stops it.

If that is the cause, then you could try reinstalling the video drivers or download the latest drivers for your video card.
