I am running A Celeron 600Mhz, 256Mb (PC100)SDRAM, Gigabyte 6PMM133 Mianboard, IBM 10/100 NIC, 10Gb Seagate HDD on a very small IP Network using Win98SE. I recently introduced a Fujitsu 6.4Gb HDD to the system. The BIOS only recognised 2Gb. I have used PC Anywhere to remove partitions that were not FAT and formatted to 6.4Gb. Since then I have not been able to boot successfully. I have removed the 6.4Gb drive.
The PC was crashing just beyond the Network Login prompt or during Scandisk. I therefore removed the 10Gb HDD and installed into an older PC, P200, 32Mb EDO Ram, boots OK.
The Celeron 600 PC halts when even accessing the BIOS/CMOS, with or without HDD's installed in the PC.
NB: Motherboard has been upgraded to Gigabyte 6PMM133 from Chaintech 6BTA
