My PC is slow when i'm online

Hi everyone, my PC gets slow when i log in to my AOL. When i'm typing it takes time to see the letters on the screen, i mean when i stop typing couple of seconds later is when the letters start to appear on the screen, but when i'm offline and type on word is Ok..can any body tell me what's happening?????Another problems is that i have a lot of pop ups windows that drives me crazy ofering stuff that i don't want..How can i get rid of this Pop ups Windows???? Please reply ASAP.

Can't help you there AOL is slow to begin with.
as far as the typing ?? if it's working fine off line then i would have to say it's either Browser problems or back to aol??
have you run "scandisk and defrag" latly?
have you emptied temp. folders,and cache??

I did defrag already...i'll go to empty my Windows Temp..

Can you post some system specs for your machine?

AOL is really a beast when it comes to system resources. This is most likely what is causing your machine to slow down. It is also possible that the AOL Connections are not configured properly and could be causing this to happen also. Which version of AOL are you using and on what Operating System? What kind of MB / Processor / RAM / Sound Card / Modem Connection (DSL, Cable, Dial-up) are you using?

Also, are the pop-ups in AOL or from websites? If they are the AOL popups then you can disable most of them by going to keyword : Preferences. There are a couple of AOL popups that are currently being used that this won't work for but it does on most of them.
