I'm sure you have heard this before.

Each time I start Windows(98) it keeps looking
for new hardware.

In this case it's a Wacom pen-tablet I have reinstalled.
It works OK, and no problem detected. It's on Com2.
No warning in system manager, no conflicts.
Both my PS/2 mouse and the pen works simul.. simultainuo..
eh.. at the same time.

I don't know why Windows can't see the drivers.
The hardware is found, but it keep asking for
drivers I've already installed.

I think I have had this problem before, or have read
about it. How do I stop it?

Follow the install directions exactly.
Like many PnP devices it must be done in the correct order.

In some it requires you to install the drivers first. then the device
In others it's the hardware first then the drivers.

If you installed the device then the drivers.

try disconnecting the device.
uninstall the drivers.
then redo it as it asks for the items.

Like the Printer that keeps popping up as new hardware.
it must be found then the drivers installed or it will continue asking.
The only cure for that one was remove the drivers I had setup and allow windows to do it's thing and install the drivers when It found the device

Thanks Rick
I had a new driver I was trying to install it with. But obviously Windows did not accept the procedure according to the Wacom instructions. I decided to install the old driver from CD.
After some trouble even with that it showed up as a separate unit,
but with a yellow warning.
But this time Windows did not keep asking for drivers.
Then I just installed the latest driver over the old one,
and the yellow mark was gone.
I hope I can remember how I did it the next time.
